Strathroy Caradoc Cancer Golf Tournament Committee Donates $34,825 to Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation
31st Annual Tournament supports the Breast Assessment Program at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital
August 23, 2017 /Strathroy, ON/ – The Strathroy Caradoc Cancer Golf Tournament (SCCGT) Committee presented Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation (SMGHF) with a donation of $34,825 on August 23, 2017.
“Without the dedication of the volunteer organizers of the annual Strathroy Caradoc Cancer Golf Tournament, who have committed to supporting the Breast Health Navigator Family Consultation Room, we would not have been able to create a comforting and safe space for breast cancer patients and their families.” said Susan McLean, SMGHF CEO. “On behalf of those patients and families – thank you!”
The tournament took place on June 17th at Caradoc Sands Golf Club and consisted of one shotgun start and a putting contest sponsored by Libro Financial. Afterwards, 135 golfers and supporters enjoyed a fabulous turkey dinner, silent auction, 50/50 draw and a “wheelbarrow of cheer” raffle at the event reception.
“On behalf of the SCCGT, I want to thank everyone that was involved in this year`s Cancer Golf Tournament,” says Marlene Duister, SCCGT Committee Chair. “It is because of the volunteers, our corporate sponsor (Meridian Lightweight Technologies), the golfers and everyone in between, that we can donate $34,825 to the SMGHF in support of the Breast Assessment Program.”
